May is Health Awareness Month and it is about acknowledging that, for many, the weight isn’t occasional—it’s constant. It lives in the quiet moments between responsibilities, in the expectations we carry, and in the parts of ourselves we’ve learned to hide just to keep moving.
In our schools, workplaces, and communities, we often celebrate resilience without ever asking what it costs.
This month is a reminder to shift that.
To check in—genuinely, not performatively.
To listen without trying to fix.
To create spaces where people don’t have to translate their pain into something more acceptable before they can be heard.
Mental health is not separate from performance, leadership, or learning—it is foundational to all of it.
So this month, don’t just raise awareness.
Change the way you show up for people.
And if you’re carrying something heavy right now—
you don’t have to carry it alone.
