The Thanksgiving holiday is upon us and we have always recognized it as a moment to pause—to breathe, to reflect, to gather ourselves before the final stretch of the year. But this year, the pause feels different. It feels heavier in some ways, lighter in others. It feels like a deep exhale after holding so much for so long.
This year has brought extraordinary change into my life—some of it welcome, some of it unexpected, some of it painful, some of it overdue. Career shifts, personal evolution, moments of clarity, moments of uncertainty, victories I could celebrate openly, and battles I had to fight quietly. It has been a year of rebuilding, reimagining, and relearning who I am when the ground shifts beneath my feet.
And yet, when I take stock of it all, I am left with one overwhelming truth:
I am grateful.
Not because the year was easy.
Not because everything worked out exactly as planned.
But because every change—good and bad—taught me something essential.
I am grateful for the growth that discomfort demanded.
This year reminded me that stretching hurts, but staying the same hurts more. The challenges I faced didn’t diminish me; they sharpened me. They clarified my purpose. They reminded me of the work I am here to do and the people I am here to serve.
I am grateful for the people who showed up.
The ones who checked in.
The ones who listened.
The ones who inspired me, challenged me, or simply held space for me.
Life has a way of rearranging your circle, and I am thankful for the people who remained—and for the new connections who have reminded me that community evolves just as we do.
I am grateful for the opportunities to begin again.
New partnerships.
New projects.
New writing.
New commitments to my own peace.
There is something powerful about giving yourself permission to start over, not from scratch, but from experience.
And I am grateful for every moment of stillness.
The small pockets of quiet where life whispers truth back into your spirit. Where clarity returns. Where joy makes its way in again, even if slowly.
A Word to You, This Thanksgiving
If this year has been good to you, celebrate that.
If this year has stretched you, honor that.
If this year has broken you open in ways you never expected, give yourself grace for that, too.
Gratitude is not about pretending everything is perfect.
It’s about recognizing the value in what we’ve endured, embraced, learned, and become along the way.
As you move through this Thanksgiving season, I hope you take a moment to:
- Thank the people who supported you
- Thank yourself for surviving what you didn’t talk about
- Thank the experiences that pushed you toward purpose
- Thank the future that is calling you forward
Even in complicated seasons, gratitude roots us. It reminds us that we’re still here. Still growing. Still becoming.
Thank you for being part of my journey this year—through the transitions, the creative work, the leadership, the writing, the rebuilding. Every project, every conversation, every moment of connection has mattered more than you know.
Wishing you peace, clarity, and gratitude this Thanksgiving.
